Speaking practice Test- Sports

Part 01

Do you like to do sports?

Yes but sometimes. If I explain more I prefer to engage with indoor sports only such as Carrom, Chess and Table Tennis and I hardly do them. Nevertheless, I love to work out in the gym.

How often do you do sports?

I have some spare time during weekends and I would rather love having active rest. Therefore once in two days, I go to the gymnasium and almost every day I work out to keep my body fit.

What are your hobbies?

I prefer to spend my spare time productively. Therefore I watch movies or listening songs in another language. On one hand, it entertains me on the other hand language can be learned too.

Part 02

  • Describe your favorite sport.
  • What is it?
  • How often do u do it?
  • Why do you like it most?

I would like to speak about Cricket which is one of my favorite topics to talk. I do not forget to watch badminton, football, and volleyball too. Among them, Cricket takes first place. I have been watching and playing cricket since I was a kid as I am a big fan of Cricket. Further, I should mention professional players such as Muttiah Muralidaran, MS Dhoni, Chris Gayle, and Shane Warne are my all the time favorites since they are the ones who raised Cricket to the top level.

As I mentioned earlier I play cricket as one of my hobbies though I am not a professional player. I used to be on the school cricket team and played almost every day after school hours. To be honest,

I have missed my school workload because of practice. I still remember how I was blamed by my parents. But the pleasure it was given is priceless.

This is very famous all around the world and there are three different types of formats

T 20,

Test matches,

One day cricket.

As you are aware of the sport, players need a large green playground, and the rules of the game are not complex. But two umpires are in the playgroup and another one on a computer device monitors the game and takes decisions. The team who wins the toss can be chosen either bat or bowl first. Around 22 players are needed and they are divided into two teams. Each team has 11 players and they should score by obeying the rules. The team which is gained the high score wins the match.

This helps to improve teamwork, time management, strategy, and punctuality and this game is filled with thrill and excitement. On the contrary, most people in my country love cricket and they hardly miss watching the matches in which we are participating. Cricketers are called lions by people in my country and it shows how much they love and respect the game. We play at the international level and we won the Cricket world cup in 1996, and the ICC champion Trophy in 2002 and Men’s Asia cup 2022 so on.

Part 03

Should everyone do sports?

Yes Certainly. I think it is compulsory to do sports to keep our body healthy and to maintain the body in a good shape. Further, people should train since it helps to release stress and stay in a better mood.

What do you suggest to all the people including those who are not doing workouts?

In my point of view, everyone can start with soft training such as running, walking or dancing. Heavy exercises such as powerlifting should be avoided during the first months.

What do children learn from sports?

It completely depends on the game they choose. Indoor games such as Chess, and Monopoly help to improve children’s thinking skills, and outdoor games such as Cricket, Football, and Volleyball help to learn punctuality, time management, and collective effort.
